Hi, I'm Ian Dobson. I am 32 years old, and I watched local bulletin boards merge and then get superseded by the Internet. I live in Melbourne Australia, having seen the world outside of Australia only through television, movies and the eyes of the net - with the exception of our recent honeymoon!
This I do too much of, as I work normal hours at Telstra managing a program office for e-supply initiatives, then share my spare time doing odd-hours freelance computer programming and small network management. When I am not doing these, you will usually find me working on my house, the garden or even my car. If I can do it myself, I will.
When I am not working (yes this does happen) I enjoy rollerblading, downhill skiing, ten pin bowling, and showing and running my dogs Nikita and Cody. I'm an enthusiastic supporter of the Kangaroos (AFL football team) - one of the high points of my life was being there when they won the Grand Finals in 1996 and 1999. I also enjoy watching movies but avoid television except when Buffy is on. Other than that I like to build electronic projects (sometimes from scratch) and design useful items for myself or others (such as Nikita's Kennel). I really like to nut out good logic or maths problems too, often driving Jennie mad with such things.
My biggest problem with the world is that there isn't enough time to do everything. If days were twice as long I probably still wouldn't get everything done. Perhaps a time machine would come in handy.
